What will my free US address look like? A physical address or just a PO Box?
Viabox provides a permanent, free physical US address, not a P.O. Box or PO Box. Your Viabox US address can receive letters, packages of any size, and even oversized pallet items from merchants using major shipping carriers such as UPS, USPS, DHL Express, FedEx, etc. You won't have any issues with merchants who refuse to ship to P.O. Box addresses.

How does Viabox calculate billable weight?
We follow international standards to determine the billable weight of your shipment. All international shipping carriers base their rates on the billable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the dimensional weight. Actual weight is the weight of the package when you place it on the scale. Dimensional weight is calculated based on the dimensions of the package. Some large items that weigh less, such as pillows and lampshades, will have a higher dimensional weight.

Why is Viabox located in Oregon and not a larger state like California, New York, or Florida?
Compared to shipping to Indiana (7% sales tax) or New York (8.8% sales tax), California (9% sales tax), Florida (7% sales tax), etc., having your US address in our Oregon warehouse means you get 0% sales tax on any US shopping site.
For example:
If you buy a $1,000 laptop on Amazon and ship it to Indiana, you’ll pay $70 in sales tax at Amazon checkout. If it’s shipped to New York, you’ll pay $88 in sales tax. If it’s shipped to California, you’ll pay $90 in sales tax. If it’s shipped to Florida, you’ll pay $70 in sales tax. And if it’s shipped to Oregon, you won’t pay any sales tax because Oregon’s sales tax is 0%.

How long can my items stay in My Kit at Viabox?
Viabox offers free storage for every package, for a period of time that depends on your subscription plan. The storage period starts from the day the item is delivered to your kit. Please refer to the table below to see the storage period for each plan.

About forwarding packages with Viabox
Some merchants require a credit card with a US billing address. I don't have one, what should I do?
There are several things you can do:
**A) Use our free assisted purchasing service: ** Let us buy your items for you at no charge!
Once you’ve signed up, simply log in to your Viabox account and click on the “Place a New Order” button (purple button) under “Assisted Purchases”, then fill out the order form and complete the payment.
We will order the item for you free of charge and provide you with (Order Confirmation/Shipping/Delivery) Confirmation.
Once the item arrives in your kit at Viabox, you can choose to have it forwarded to you or combined with other items before forwarding.
B) Try to get a debit card with your Viabox address as the billing address.
**C) Contact your credit card issuer and request to have a secondary address added to your card. **Use your Viabox address as your secondary address. Most credit card companies will allow this.
I want to buy from a US site but they don't ship to my international address. Can Viabox.com let me take advantage of these deals?
With a US address provided by Viabox.com, you will be able to purchase items at a cheaper price than you would otherwise. Most US merchants do not ship to international addresses, but now you can! Ship the items to your established address with us, and we will consolidate all of your packages and ship them to your location outside the US.
Do you accept registered mail, registered mail and COD shipments?
Yes, we accept Registered and Registered Mail at no extra cost; we just have to get your explicit confirmation before receiving such shipments. We do not accept COD shipments.
Do I need to file USPS Form 1583?
We need this form to accept packages from merchants shipped to you at Viabox Kit via USPS. We do not need this form to accept packages from merchants that ship via other major shipping carriers (e.g. UPS, etc.). Typically, you can select the shipping carrier during the checkout process on the merchant's website. By selecting any other carrier besides USPS, you do not need to provide us with the 1583 USPS form.
Due to USPS regulations, all customers must complete USPS Form 1583 in order to receive USPS shipments in their Viabox kit. Viabox may not receive mail from USPS until Form 1583 is received authorizing Viabox to receive mail on your behalf. This is a one-time requirement from the USPS that we cannot waive.

If I don't have access to the internet, can you still provide service to my area?
Yes. You will still receive mail and package forwarding, but it will be on a set schedule. Simply sign up for our automatic forwarding option and we will deliver your packages and mail on a pre-arranged schedule.
Can I use my US address for company registration or bank account opening?
For certain requests, we require customers to go through a Know Your Customer (KYC) process to ensure security and compliance. This process involves verifying the identity of our customers and assessing the potential risk of illicit intent. If you are unsure about the specific request and KYC requirements, be sure to consult our support team.

Do my Concierge Points expire?
Yes, any unused Concierge Credits expire at the end of each month. Please be sure to use your credits within the month they are issued.
Will unused Concierge Points roll over to the next month?
No, Concierge Points do not carry over to the next month. For Plus plan members, 2 new points will be provided at the beginning of each month, and for Pro plan members, 5 new points will be provided at the beginning of each month.

Which countries do you ship to?
For a list of countries we serve, please review the registration form. Please take the time to click on the country of your choice as not all shipping options are available to all countries. If a country is not listed on our website, we do not provide service.
Do you ship within the United States?
Yes. We will provide our address to anyone in the United States. We have many customers who ship with us within the United States in order to establish a US business presence and receive a Portland, Oregon postmark.
Do you offer an option to forward letters and documents?
Yes, we can forward letters and documents just like we forward boxed parcels. You can estimate the shipping costs using the Shipping Calculator.

How do I redirect mail or packages from another US address to my new Viabox address?
If you already have an address in the United States, you should complete a change of address with USPS. This can be done online at USPS.com.
What if I don't want to receive some mail in my box? Do I need to pay to have it sent to me?
With online access, you can drop off items that pass our screening with a simple click of your mouse. This way, you will never pay for shipping of unwanted mail.
Do you require a deposit like some of your competitors?
No deposit required. The package will be sent from us to you after we receive the PayPal shipping payment, which saves us from any initial deposit.
Do the quoted shipping costs include import duties and taxes?
While our shipping rates include all shipping and handling charges, you may still be responsible for certain import duties and taxes imposed by your country on your shipment. Viabox is not responsible for shipping delays related to customs difficulties. For more information, we recommend that you contact your local customs office.
About declared value and returns
Can I declare a different value for my items to reduce import duties and taxes?
You can declare any value for your items from your account area on Viabox.com. We will declare that value on the package when we forward it. We always recommend declaring a reasonable value to avoid unnecessary delays or fines when the package arrives in your country.
If I am not satisfied with the item I received, can I return it?
The return policy depends on the merchant you purchased the item from. Please contact the merchant to learn about their return policy and procedures.
