Q: Can USAbox ship dangerous goods?

A: To comply with air cargo regulations, USAbox cannot ship hazardous materials. The Department of Transportation (DOT) restricts certain items from being shipped by air that could cause a fire or other hazard on board. These items include aerosols or products containing flammable chemicals, such as alcohol that could explode in flight, nail polish or nail polish remover, products in pressurized spray cans, or medications, such as hair spray, shaving cream, and inhalers. Products containing flammable, volatile, or corrosive chemicals, such as fragrances and perfumes. A: If possible, USAbox will repackage the item at your request. This often saves on shipping costs.

USAbox offers two repackaging options:

Option 1) A repacking fee of $5.00 per box will be charged. This fee is charged before any repacking is attempted and is non-refundable. If repacking is not possible, you will still be charged $5.00 per box. You may choose to repack and consolidate multiple boxes. The fee will also be $5.00 per box.

Option 2) You can select the repackaging option at the time of shipment. USAbox will then open all boxes for that shipment and attempt to repack all items more efficiently. There is no upfront fee for this service. If repackaging is possible, USAbox will share the benefit of the repackaging with the customer. This means that if USAbox is able to reduce the weight by the equivalent of $100.00, USAbox will reduce your shipping cost to $50.00. Depending on the circumstances, USAbox may be able to reduce your costs further. If repackaging is not possible, you will not be charged anything and your shipping cost will not change.

Q: Does the shipping rate quoted by USAbox include all shipping costs? What about customs duties, tariffs or taxes?

USAbox has many customers like you who travel frequently, and USAbox will forward their letters and merchandise to different addresses depending on where they are located. You just tell USAbox where you want your items sent each time you request a shipment.

What ID documents can I provide for my USPS Form 1583?

Two types of identification are required. One of them must include a photo of the recipient. Acceptable IDs include: a valid driver's license or state non-driver's license identification card; armed forces, government, university, or recognized company identification card; passport or alien registration card or certificate of naturalization; current lease agreement, mortgage, or deed of trust; voter or vehicle registration card; or home or vehicle insurance policy Social Security cards, credit cards, and birth certificates are not acceptable forms of identification.

I previously sent a notarized USPS Form 1583 and ID, but my mailbox still says inactive.

USAbox standard operating procedure is to activate your mailbox as soon as we receive your documents, which you can check by logging into your account. If you did not notarize your forms correctly or your ID is missing, your mailbox will not be activated. However, if you are certain that you have sent your documents in order, it may take longer for your documents to travel through the international postal system. If you still think it is definitely taking too long, write to USAbox to make sure that USAbox did not make a mistake.

I don't have a business, what should I write on the USPS Form 1583?

How many USPS Form 1583s does a household need to complete?

A husband and wife can fill out and sign one Form 1583 together. Each spouse needs to provide two valid identification documents. Please fill in the corresponding boxes for the different information for each spouse.

Guardians are required to list the name and age of the minor whose delivery address receives mail in box 12 of USPS Form 1583.

Can companies use a mailbox forwarding service? Do they need to complete Form 1583?
